The The Elf on the Shelf: The BEST Christmas Tradition EVER!

The The Elf on the Shelf: The BEST Christmas Tradition EVER!

Meet Jacks, the McCluskey family Elf.  Jacks comes to stay every year after Thanksgiving.  He watches over Madilynne and Hailey during the day and flies back to the North Pole every night to tell Santa whether they’ve been bad or good. He knows all that happens throughout the day whether it be at the park, school or at home.  The girls know that they must be on their best behavior in order for Santa to get a good report from Jacks.  Jacks plays all night at the North Pole with the other elves, but he is sure to be back before Madilynne and Hailey wake.

Upon his return, Jacks always finds a clever lookout spot somewhere in our home  Every morning when the girls wake up they run through the house looking for Jacks.  This clever little elf may be on a light fixture, in a shoe…sometimes he just sits on the mantle.  It’s like a game of Christmas hide and seek.

There are a few rules that come along with all of this Christmas fun.  Madilynne and Hailey are not allowed to touch Jacks, or he may loose his Christmas magic.  In addition, Jacks cannot speak to the girls.  Even though he doesn’t talk to them, they know he is listening by his smile.  They tell him all of their Christmas wishes and Jacks reports back to Santa.  That way Santa can make the final decision.

The night before Christmas, Jacks has finished his job.  He flies back to the North Pole to stay with Santa and the other elves until next year….

The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition was created by Carol V. Aebersold for her own children and has since evolved into many families favorite Christmas tradition!  The idea began when her children asked her how Santa knew if they were bad or good.  It is a fun way to keep kids on track during the holiday season. All I have to say when Madilynne and Hailey are acting up is, “Jacks is watching you”!

The set comes with an Elf as well as a C.D. with a super cute song, “The Elf on the Shelf is watching you, what you say and what you do”…  There is also a fabulous book which explains the tradition, in a fun way, to your children.  There is also an activity book available to add even more fun.  Get yours today, Mamas!
