“Your Body IS a Wonderland!” Sexual Healing for a Healthier Life (Eighth in Series)

“Your Body IS a Wonderland!” Sexual Healing for a Healthier Life (Eighth in Series)

I lived one hour north of Atlanta for some 30 years and would travel down to the big city from the lower Appalachian Mountains every once-in-awhile for some culture and “city life.” Currently, I’m an Adjunct Professor at a college in a beautiful mountain town named Dahlonega. It is where gold first was discovered 20 years before the California rush of 1849. My love of the Atlanta Braves, the mountains, a Florida beach weekend, a trip to Yellowstone or an Atlanta concert every-so-often got me away from the fertile mountain red clay. I live today on A1A. Not a bad other choice. There is no other choice for me.

My second daughter Shelley sang as back-up for Shawn Mullin’s and the number one rated “Soul’s Core” album in the late ‘90’s. Remember “Lullaby?” It was a love ballad for sure. Man, I’d pull over with tears in my eyes when the song played about once EVERY hour. Atlanta stations killed the song from overplay. I still “tear up” when I hear it played every once-in-a-while. It played last week in Melbourne! I actually heard it on The Weather Channel on the “Eights!”

Music has ALWAYS been my passion and passion is my life.

Anyway, I remember seeing Shawn and Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland) and a very young John Mayer along with many others at Eddie’s Attic. The Attic is just a few blocks from The Indigo Girls and Emily Seiler’s “Watershed” Restaurant. Great and mostly, veggie shit with a superior wine list. This is a PG-13 column so I refrain from cussing much but sometimes…I just can’t help myself!

I’ve made my list for the most erotic songs and/or lyrics and “Your Body is a Wonderland’ is at the top of my list. I mean…exploring a partner all day (especially on a rainy or cold weekend day) is “numero uno” in my book!

Dave Matthew’s  “Crash” was/is a close second. Remember those words, “you wear nothing and you wear it so well” and “hike up your skirt a little more!” Damn!!! We could get arrested for our thoughts, guys!

What about you? What are song and lyrics from your generation? What turns you on as much as it “lights the fire” of your partner? Jim Morrison (“Light My Fire”) and I went to St. Pete JC together and I was in a class or two with him in the mid-sixties! Honest.

My list is not in any order and will cross generations from the 1960’s to 2010. Remember I’m old but young in spirit. Here goes and feel free to add or delete. BE FREE! BE SEXY. BE FOREVER HEALED AND HEALTHY!!!

***”Whole Lotta’ Love” by Led Zep (“I want to give you “every inch of my love!”)

***”Tonight’s the Night”  by Rod Stewart. Most women like his raspy voice and sex appeal. I like the lyrics too and wish I had his hair, “spread your virgin wings my virgin child and let me come inside!” Damn!

***”Let’s Get in On” by Marvin Gaye.

Anything by Norah Jones! Truly, she is bedroom mood music.

***”Like a Virgin by Madonna.

***”Let’s Get Physical”  by a much younger Olivia Newton-John.

***”I Touch Myself” by Di Vinlys. Sometimes, you all, we just have too!

Anything by Barry White! “Oh, baby, baby, baby!” I just wish I had that deep, deep voice, Guys…don’t you??

***”Lay Lady, Lay” by Bob Dylan.

***”Say Goodbye” another by DMB.

***”Let’s Spend the Night Together”  by the Rolling Stones in the late ‘60’s.

Anything, anything and most everything, by Sarah MacLachlan! Be free with her spirit if you know what I mean…

Country couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill recently sang about just making it all night long with “Let’s make love until all our strength is gone.” That’s REALLY erotic and a good thought to leave you with.

A significant part of sexual healing and a healthier life, as mentioned before, deals with our senses. Listen to the vibes that turns you AND your partner on.

FOREPLAY FOR THE EVENING STARTS AFTER YOU WAKE UP! Remember that, guys. Remember that, ladies.

Let a partner know that a body is that “wonderland” you desire. Whisper the words of the most sensual songs and poems of your generation.

Your body just may be your partner’s wonderland if you do. Maybe until ALL strength is gone.

What a wonderful way to fall asleep in each others arms…
